ICSCRM 2027 – Bringing the World’s Semiconductor Leaders to Wales
The International Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials (ICSCRM 2027) will take place at the ICC Wales in Newport from 19–24 September 2027. It is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious specialist semiconductor conferences, expected to attract around 2,000 scientists, engineers and industry leaders from across the globe.
The conference will showcase the latest breakthroughs in silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor technology – advanced electronic chips that enable more efficient use of electricity, reduce energy losses and support the transition to cleaner technologies. These chips are increasingly important for electric vehicles, renewable energy, artificial intelligence (AI) data centres, aerospace and next-generation industrial systems.
Co-organised by Swansea University and CSconnected, with Vishay as a headline sponsor, the event will provide a major international platform to showcase South Wales as a global centre for advanced semiconductor research and manufacturing. It will also create opportunities for international investment, industrial partnerships, innovation and high-value jobs across Wales.
